Ron Mitchell Named Vice President - Chief Underwriting Officer

Pekin Insurance is pleased to welcome Ron Mitchell as the new Vice President – Chief Underwriting Officer.
Mitchell began his insurance career in 1991. Since then, he has held many senior leadership roles at Northwestern National, Grinnell Mutual, and Farm Bureau Property and Casualty Insurance Company.
Most recently, Ron was the underwriting and products vice president for Farm Bureau Property and Casualty Insurance Company, where he assisted agents with personal, commercial, and farm lines of business.
He has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Northern Iowa. He has also earned his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Personal Insurance (API), Associate in Underwriting (AU), Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist certification (AFIS), and other designations.
As Vice President – Chief Underwriting Officer, Mitchell will be responsible for overseeing the property and casualty underwriting functions for the company. The role ensures the profitable growth and production of all lines of commercial and personal products.
