Pekin Insurance® Partners with Pro Golfer to Support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
For the fourth consecutive year, Pekin Insurance has teamed up with professional golfer D.A. Points to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The program is called “Birdies for St. Jude.” It allows participants to pledge a specific amount of money for every birdie and/or eagle D.A. Points achieves during the 2015 golf season.
Pekin Insurance and D.A. Points have championed this cause to support the fight against childhood diseases. D.A. Points commented, “Every day I watch my children play, sleep, eat, laugh, and do all the things that normal children would do. I know I take it for granted, but when I hear about the children of St. Jude who fight for their lives every day, I realize how thankful I am that my children are healthy. However, we never know when the tide may turn, and I would want St. Jude taking care of my children should they fall victim to a devastating disease. I am proud to be teamed up with Pekin Insurance for this worthwhile event. Please help with the lifesaving work of St. Jude.”
Since the program started, the “Birdies for St. Jude” program has raised over $10,300 with all proceeds going to St. Jude.
To participate in the “Birdies for St. Jude” program and make a pledge, visit our special web page. There, you will find a convenient online pledge form as well as a running total of D.A.’s performance for this season. In 2014, D.A. scored 221 birdies and 1 eagle.
Founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital receives the majority of its funding from individual contributors. This allows them to focus on what matters most — saving kids regardless of their financial situation. Your support is greatly appreciated. Every small pledge adds up to make a big difference in the life of a child.
Although the campus of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is located in Memphis, Tennessee, the facility welcomes families from all over the world. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food. They feel the only thing families should worry about is helping their child live.
Born and raised in Pekin, Illinois, D.A. Points turned pro in 1999 and joined the PGA TOUR in 2005. He has won two PGA TOUR victories, including the Shell Houston Open in 2013 and the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in 2011.
Pekin Insurance and D.A. Points are asking everyone to join in this worthy cause by donating to “Birdies for St. Jude.”
