Pay a Bill

Several payment options are available to our policyholders at no additional charge:


1. Pay Online

  • Payment methods accepted: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards; Electronic checks
  • Make a one-time payment (Login not required)
  • Create an Online Payment Center account to:
    • Manage your payments in one place by linking all your policies, regardless of line of business (Personal, Commercial, or Life)
    • View payment history
    • Set up recurring or future payments
  • To protect your privacy and payments, the Online Payment Center is serviced on a third-party banking platform. All new users must set up an Online Payment Center account, which will be different than your MyPI login.

2. Pay by Phone via our automated Voice Response System (VRS)

  • Simply call 1-800-322-0160, Extension 2010
  • Use a credit card or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover are accepted)
  • Or directly from your bank account

3. Pay by Mail

  • Print a credit card authorization form.
  • For all types of insurance.

FAQs

Q. Will my monthly payments ever change?

A. Yes. If the cost of your insurance changes, your monthly payments will change. If you make a change to your policy that increases or decreases your insurance premiums, we will adjust any future invoices that have not been billed. This is why it is always best to pay the billed amount even if you know there is a change being made.

Q. Is it really a problem that my payments are late? You do get them eventually.

A. Yes. Unfortunately, we have additional expenses when accounts are not paid on time and the policies are cancelled for non-payment. It is unfair to our other policyholders to incur these costs. Therefore, if your account cancels excessively in any 12-month period, we will no longer be able to offer you a monthly payment plan. Of greater importance to you is the fact that you will be without insurance coverage for periods during these 12 months, which could prove to be very costly.

Q. If I am going on vacation, can I make my monthly payments early?

A. Of course. Our online payment center offers the option of scheduling early payments (up to 90 days in advance) or setting up automatic monthly payments via your bank account or a credit card. In addition, if you simply pay in advance, we will automatically apply it to your future billings when they come due, and you will not receive an invoice until there is an amount due.

Q. Why do I have to pay a monthly service fee?

A. There are additional costs involved with a monthly billing plan that are not added to the basic cost for your insurance coverage. To compensate, we include a $5 service fee to cover these costs with each monthly billing.

Q. I don’t like writing checks. Are there any other options?

A. Yes. Utilize our online payment center to make one-time payments or to set up recurring payments via your bank account or credit card. Utilizing the bank recurring payment option will You can save you money by eliminating the monthly service charge and postage, a savings of over $65 per year.

Q. Why do I have to pay a month in advance?

A. We need to allow enough time to send you a bill, process your payment, and provide you with as much notice of cancellation as possible if your payment is late. This way you have less chance of being without coverage. Your agent also collected a down payment when you applied for your new policy. It takes several days for us to process your application, and this payment covers your insurance costs during this time.

Q. How much time do I have to pay my bill?

A. We will mail a billing notice to you 17 days before the payment is due. When you are mailing your payment, please allow adequate time for your payment to reach us before the due date.

Q. What if I have questions about my bill?

A. Contact your agent at any time for any questions concerning your bill or coverage. Your agent will be happy to assist you with your insurance needs.

Q. Why is there a $5.00 monthly service fee and how can I avoid it?

A. There are additional costs involved with a monthly billing plan that are not added into the basic cost of your insurance coverage. To compensate, we include a $5.00 service fee on monthly installments. To avoid these fees, when your policy renews, we give you the option to PAY IN FULL the entire policy premium. In addition, we do not charge the service fee if you use the recurring payment option from your bank account.

Q. What is the last day to pay?

A. Payment needs to be processed by 4:00 p.m. Central Time on the due date shown on your monthly invoice. You are at risk of loss of coverage if payment is not received on time.

Q. When was my last payment received and for how much?

A. Our Automated Voice Response System, 800-322-0160, Extension 2010, will provide you with this information.

Q. When will the policy cancel and can it be reinstated?

A. It is critical to make your insurance payments on time to avoid a potential lapse in coverage. If payment is not received by the due date, a termination notice will be sent indicating whether or not reinstatement is an option. If reinstatement is an option, we will provide a dollar amount and a date by which the money is needed in order to reinstate with or without a lapse in coverage.

Please be aware that you will be charged a late fee or a reinstatement fee if your payment is received late. There are cost ramifications on late payments, and it is unfair to our other policyholders to incur these costs. You will be instructed to contact your Pekin Insurance Agent if reinstatement is not an option.
