| EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST |
| | POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for all aspects of the on-boarding process, which includes candidate sourcing, managing vendors (assessments, background check, drug test) and partnering with department hiring managers. Coordinate FMLA, workers’ compensation and OSHA reporting. Prepare information for the monthly newsletter and administer insurance education and certification programs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work directly with department hiring managers to assess hiring needs and create job postings
- Participate in college and community career fairs and conduct on-campus interviews
- Conduct phone screens and coordinate initial interviews
- Extend offers, prepare welcome letters and coordinate drug testing and background checks
- Prepare new hire paperwork and lead formal orientation
- Enter and process new hire information into database – follow up on all missing information
- Research and prepare articles for the monthly newsletter.
- Report workers’ compensation claims to carrier and acts as liaison between carrier, medical providers, and employee
- Maintain FMLA records - determine if employee is eligible for a leave and prepare appropriate paperwork
- Act as Education Representative for LOMA and CPCU Institute which involves ordering books, registering for exams, and maintaining file of completed courses and designations earned
- Prepare and post weekly bulletin board information on physical and electronic boards
- Compile and distribute Monthly Employment Report
- Complete and summarize exit interviews
- Ability to interact in person or by phone with all levels of employees in a professional and sensitive manner
- Assist with various projects and provide backup in Human Resource Department as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree preferably in business/HR related field, plus 2-4 years of experience in an HR Department. The emphasis of this position is employment and recruitment. Basic knowledge of FMLA, workers’ compensation and unemployment is necessary as well as working knowledge of employment law. HR Certification is preferred (PHR). | | Responsibilities include: • Partner with the Product Development team and Quality Assurance to define business requirements and deliver results. • Partner with Product Development and the Technology team to meet corporate, team and personal objectives as defined by management.
Minimum Qualifications include: • Experience designing, creating, maintaining and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Servers databases. • Solid understanding of Relational Database Systems (RDBMS) and Star or Snowflake Schema designs. • Creating schemas, triggers, stored procedures, sequences, synonyms, optimization and user defined data types. • Identifying data sources from design requirements, transforms design from logical model to physical implementation, constructs entity relationship diagrams, data dictionaries and process documents, and manages and implements schema change requests. • Writing complex queries and developing stored procedures in SQL Server environment. • OLAP experience is a plus. • Minimum of 3-8+ years of relevant database experience required. • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate’s degree with equivalent work experience will be considered. • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills along with outstanding oral and written communication skills. • Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision are a must. • This is an on-call position which will be rotated with other team members. On-call personnel are expected to be available 24 hours. • Off-shift work may be required. • Ongoing training and education will be required.
